The Internet Belongs to the Commoners
Argo is a tool that combines a web browser and a new peer to peer virtual machine. Today, Argo can save the contents of any website you visit and share that content with your peers. It's useful for gated, censored, or personalized content like a social media feed.
As Argo matures, these and other data will become programmable and remixable. Over the long term, Argo is designed to replace centralized Internet companies with decentralized personal cloud computers—returning control to the people.
Argo automatically creates a personal Internet archive.
Every website you view is recorded and stored in a private virtual computer using an ISO archival format. Each virtual computer is owned by a single user and is completely portable between physical machines.
Saved sites can be viewed like any other webpage.
Argo can automatically playback any recorded webpage from your virtual computer, ensuring you never lose information you’ve previously viewed, even if the original content disappears or is deleted.
Webpages can be shared with your peers.
Each virtual computer has a unique network ID and can peer with other computers. Anything you can see in your browser, you can share with your peers.
